Happy Thanksgiving

From all of us a Century 21 Koeckeritz Realty -- Happy Thanksgiving. It's a time to be thankful for what we have but be sure to count your blessing everyday.

Things are still happening in the real estate market here in New Ulm and the surrounding area both in the residential and commercial markets. Even though it's November our thoughts tend to be out months ahead. If you're considering building that dream home in the Spring, now is a good time to be looking for your building lot and meeting with a builder. The building schedule fills up fast once the weather clears for building.
We are in the process of getting a listing on a new construction home that will be built in the Spring. Good location and wonderful square footage with many amenities

Parade of Lights is on Friday after Thanksgiving. There will be no parking downtown before and during the Parade to offer better views and a safer event. Should be great weather too.

Once again this year we as a Century 21 Koeckeritz Realty family will be making a donation to the Adopt A Family program. Each agent donates some many and then goes shopping for a family that is in need this holiday season. It could be a family of three or a family of 6, we just never know who we will be assigned. It's a great feeling to lend a helping hand anyway we can .

Fall 2015

For people that like snow, this isn't your year; so far. But if this rain lately would be snow it would be piled up everywhere by now and it's not officially Winter. I talked to one farmer who says they welcome this rain; it's a jump start for next Spring.
Everyone would need to agree that with the mild weather comes a few less dollars out of our pocket for utilities to heat our homes. I love it!!

https://www.pinterest.com/pin/560064903640239062/  Here is a neat idea from Pinterest for garbage bag storage. Gotta love Pinterest.

Southside New Ulm is a changing -- Target is closing but New Ulm Target customers are fighting to keep them open. Congrats to the Bauers of Bauers Hardware on their retirement and the sale of their building---yes we sold it!!. If they close what can we do with the Target building??

Thanksgiving is coming up and it's that time of year that we need to take a minute to give thanks for all that we have. Giving thanks for what we have and for the people in our lives. There is a lot going on in the world and not all positive but everyone do your part to make your corner of the world a happy place.

Don't forget to check out our new website!! Use our trailer to help your move if you use our real estate services.

Go Vikings, Eagles, Charger, Hounds, Knights and Indians. We are a proud supporter of all High School and College sports. The Winter season has started.

Happenings

By now most if not everyone has heard of the planned Target closing and everyone has an opinion on this one way or another. I've read most all the comments and talked with many on this. It doesn't matter if it's a big box or a mom or pop store, a store closing isn't good for anyone. There is a ripple affect from jobs to taxes to empty buildings that comes with going out of business. Let's hope for a save on this one. By the looks on Social Media, customers of Target have come out in full force.

Deer hunting is the next two weekends; have a safe and successful hunt

Shopping Opener starts today, Friday, at some shops and continues through the weekend. The weather should be good for both hunting and shopping; it could be whole lot worse.

Fall sports is winding down and Winter sports is set to take off soon. Follow your favorite teams and be a good sport about it all year long.

Hard to believe that Thanksgiving is around the corner; heard Christmas music on the radio already

If you use our real estate services, be sure to ask about using our trailer. Protect your possessions from the elements with our enclosed trailer.

Commercial Building Opportunities

Have you ever thought of starting your own business? Need more room? A better location? There are commercial building opportunities available in New Ulm. Contact an agent with Century 21 Koeckeritz Realty to find out what's available. Many times a building is for sale and for a variety of reasons there isn't a for sale sign out front. We have listed for sale the building at 2 S. Minnesota for $149,900. In the heart of downtown New Ulm, this building has been home to a variety of different businesses, has 5000 square feet and an attached garage at the back of the building.

Looking for a new home? There have been some recent new listings and price improvements on others. Interest rates are still low and should stay that way for the near future.

Your best bet when it comes to financing your home; look no further than local. Our local lenders are here for you and will be in future should the need arise to talk with someone about your mortgage.

Topic of conversation the other night -- traditional or boneless chicken wings?? What is a boneless wing? Gotta have the traditional wing!! For a meal or an appetizer, wings are my first choice and they need to be the traditional wing. Turner Hall in New Ulm has some good ones.

Halloween in near and in addition to the house to house tricks and treats there are a couple of other options. Turner Hall is having a haunted event and it's right on the end of South State. Head just a little bit further north and take in the haunted school. What once was the New Ulm Middle School or Junior High is having a Haunted event too. For a small fee get your socks scared off.

Speaking of school, the new high school is moving along just fine. Many rumors out there about being behind schedule, and being over budget and all sorts of other nonsense. Don't believe everything that you hear on the street as there are a lot of naysayers. Yes it's a Public School building will have facilities for people of all ages to enjoy and be proud of.

As I drove by the construction of the school on a very windy day, I had to take in a "proud" sight. High above the ground on the very tip of the crane that they have been using to set the massive walls and floors waved the American Flag. It's so great to see when contractors and anyone flies the American Flag.

Take a Look at our New Website

It's been in the making for some time, we got really really busy in the Spring and Summer, but here it is. Our website has been revamped and redone so you can find your new home and find that agent that can help you buy or sell in  today's real estate market. Give a look and let us know what you think.

We recently had our Annual Pumpkin Giveaway and took in an awful lot of food while giving away 200 pumpkins. The weather was great and a good time was had by all. Nothing but positive comments following the event.

Did you take in Octoberfest? Looks like they had great crowds at all the venues  and again the weather was super. The food was good and the beer was cold and the music got people on their feet. What else do you need for a great time.

With the weather turning cooler, now is the time to take advantage of the rebate from the New Ulm PUC. Call a local Heating Company and set up a time to have your furnace checked and get part of that cost back from the PUC. Another good thing to do is to replace the batteries in your smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detectors; do it when you change the clocks. Did you know that it's the law in Minnesota to have a Carbon Monoxide detector within 10 feet of every legal bedroom in your home? Yep! Sure

Take a look at the above link -- I want something like that in my house!!

HAVE A GREAT DAY

If this wind continues...

The wind this Spring has been crazy; lets open a kite manufacturing company. I've got a couple of buildings listed for sale that would be great for that or any other business dream you may have.

Have you been thinking about selling your home in the near future? Now may be the time. Listing inventory is low, interest rates are low and there are buyers looking!!! We've had listings hit the market and sell in days and even hours this past week. Ask one of us at Century 21 Koeckeritz Realty for a free Market Value Analysis to determine a value on your property. Looking to buy?? Check out our website at www.krhomes.com. Did you know that with some changes in the way homes are sent to the Internet our listings are easier to find than some of our competing companies in New Ulm?? Some of their listings aren't on the major real estate web sites!! They brag that their listings go to about 15 websites; not so with us. Try around 800 websites for us.

Thinking new construction?? We can put you in touch with a builder and find you a lot.  Call us today.

Prom is this weekend for some area schools; everyone be safe and have a good time.

Go Wild!! Hockey team. Not at Prom.

Go Twins!!

Vikings draft this weekend!!

We once again will be offering a free movie for anyone that wants to attend. May 2 at 10 A.M at the State Street Theatre, the old Junior High. This time we will be showing Big Hero 6. Concessions will be sold on site. Yes it is FREE

"You Play Like A Girl"

When I was a kid, if a boy was told that you play like a girl or throw like a girl it wasn't really a compliment. With the recent success of a few girls teams in the New Ulm area it might not be all bad. The NUHS girls varsity had another good year and made it to state. Over the weekend one of the youth teams hosted and then won a state title in their age group. If they can stay together over the next few years all they'll do is get better. Congratulations!! The girls basketball teams at all three high schools in New Ulm and the two in Sleepy Eye had their ups and downs but put some athletes on the floor any given night. I was there when NUHS lost 52 games in a row in girls basketball and trust me it isn't all that much fun. Spring is here and if my sources are correct it'll be good seasons for the girls softball programs this year too. See you at a park near you.
Century 21 had their regional awards banquet recently at the Minneapolis Marriot NW and once again we did well. Joyce Krenz, Amanda Jensen, Brenda Nosbush, Tim Woods,Jim Heil, Lisa Larson and the office itself were all winners of various awards based on productivity and production. Come see why we're the best in the business.
Upcoming events: The last weekend in March, come see us at the Home Show at the New Ulm Civic Center. The New Ulm Rotary Club is hosting a Trivia Night on April 10. Put a team together and prove how smart you are.
Thinking about buying or selling but don't know where to start?? No need to look any further than Century 21 Koeckeritz Realty. We can show you any home listed for sale and help you get your home ready to sell. Just call; 507-359-9212 or e-mail us at info@krhomes.com
It's NCAA basketball tournament time; work productivity goes down when the games are on starting Thursday. How much do you watch and do you have your brackets filled out??
Many people are tempted to start doing yardwork but according to the experts it's a little to early. Hold off for a couple of weeks. We can still get snow for a bit yet.

March Madness

The term March Madness is usually associated with the NCAA Basketball Tournaments along with all the high school tournaments. The New Ulm Girls Hockey team and the Boys Hockey team made it to state as did some wrestlers. Looks like some area basketball teams have a shot too.

In the real estate business we have our own "madness"; the Spring market. Things have popped as of late as new listings have come onto the market and buyers, like buds on a tree have popped up too.

You like fish?? Head to the best Fish Fry around --Courtland is the place this Saturday. All you can eat with German and American potato salad and cole slaw. Made with Schell's beer batter.

Later this month is the Home Show --come see us at our booth and let's talk!!

The High School Spring sports season is just getting geared up; good luck to all the athletes, coaches and parents.

List or buy with us and use our enclosed trailer to help with the move. It's been gone a lot lately so many people are taking advantage of that perk.

Are you in law enforcement, medical worker, firefighter, teacher or are or were in the military? You are a heroe!! Use our services and get money back at closing!! There really are no strings attached. Call us for details

It's only a matter of time now.

It's only a matter of time before Spring will explode all around us!! The snow will  melt, the grass will turn green and you'll be planting your gardens and flower beds. Are you ready for the season to change?
In the world of Real Estate, Spring is our busiest time of year although people buy and sell year round. Are you thinking of buying or selling this year? Don't know where to start? If you're a buyer and don't have a home to sell, pay a visit to your favorite local lender and find out what you can afford. If you have a home to sell contact us for a free Market Value Analysis to determine the value of your current and then talk to your favorite local lender about selling your home and buying something different. How much home can you buy after you sell your current one? If you're a seller, same thing, contact us about a free Market Value Analysis.
Another service we offer  if you're a seller is a free one hour consultation with a local Home Stager. She'll give you tips and hints and advice so your home looks it's finest.

As we get into March, life gets a little busier with all the events happening in our area. Local high school sports teams are in playoff and state tournament action. The Lenten Season is upon us and with that comes all the fish fry's. The NCAA March Madness starts soon. On March 14, Habitat For Humanity has a fundraiser at the New Ulm Event Center with Texas Hold'em, Bingo and a meal. Money raised will go towards the construction of another home. The day before we have the Century 21 Awards Banquet where once again we are "Award Winning" as an office and individual agents.

Did you know that your average #2 pencil has enough lead in it to draw a line approximately 35 miles?

The weekends in March bring the Farm Show, Camper Show and Home Show at the New Ulm Civic Center. Be sure to stop out to see us at the Home Show the last weekend of March.

How do you think the Minnesota Twins will do this year? Some familiar faces are back from last year and years past; Tori Hunter and Paul Molitor. They do play in a real nice ball park.

Our newest agent is Kelsey Sabatino. She has been with us since November is ready to help you buy or sell.

Lisa Larson has launched a promotion that could ease your Holiday Shopping burden. Use her services and you'll be entered into a drawing that could pay you $500. Drawing to be held the day before Thanksgiving; just in time for Black Friday.

Coming soon!! Our website at www.krhomes.com will going through a make over. Stay tuned
